WE ARRANGED A VISIT TO THE WATFORD MUSEUM ON WEDNESDAY 13TH JUNE STARTING AROUND 7.30PM.
Eleven members of the Society were treated to an absorbing talk on the Earls of Essex and their families, together with the ties to the Cassiobury estate in Watford. The talk took place in the art gallery itself and, following the talk, the members were able to view the Museums magnificent collection of paintings of all the various Earls and some of their wives following the talk.
Also after the talk the museum was open to everyone to wander and enjoy at their leisure.
Roy Wood, Society Honorary Secretary thanked Heritage Officer Sarah Priestley for her talk and for the evening in general which had been most enjoyable.
At the end of the evening we were presented with a copy of the book concerning the paintings of the Earls of Essex for our Society library.
